I made my first scone!

Summer Berry Scones (courtesy of Once Upon A Tart)

4 cups unbleached all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
2/3 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
2.5 sticks of cold unsalted butter, cut into cubes
2 large eggs
3/4 cup cold buttermilk
1.5 teaspoons vanilla extract
1.5 teaspoons almond extract
1 tablespoon raspberry preserves
1/2 cup dried currants
3/4 cup blueberries
2/3 cup raspberries

Mix dry ingredients in food processor. Add butter, process until the mixture looks grainy. Transfer to bigger bowl. Mix wet ingredients. Add wet ingredients to dry ingredients. Stir. Fold in berries. Plop scoops onto baking sheet. Bake at 400 degrees for 20-25 minutes.

Baby Sunflowers

My folks planted this charming plot of sunflowers for the birds. I like the idea of planting something with the birds in mind. Plus, I like how sunflowers turn to face the sun. A spiritual metaphor, I'd say.
