Childhood

Memory:
My mom found some money in the wash.
The dollar was crisply folded at right angles. It was Kate's money.
If the dollar was in a wad, Mom knew it was mine.

Memory:
I frequently broke into my sister's pink safe. Did you know that?
What did you keep in there anyway? I don't remember.
If I went back in time, I'd check that safe again.
I would like to see what you thought was valuable.

Memory:
I regularly counted my change. It was a satisfying endeavor.
As a kid, I always like tedious tasks like that.
Annie is to thank for these neat stacks.
